Asbury Park Police are investigating a shots-fired incident that injured a person in a section of the city Monday night.
Police say at approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 2 Atkins Avenue.
Units arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering a bullet wound in their neck at that location.
According to police, EMS transported the gunshot victim to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment while detectives investigated the crime scene.
Police have not released the motive for the shooting at this time.
