There is an active investigation underway into a shooting that injured a person in a neighborhood in Jersey City.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 268 Duncan Avenue at approximately 7:50 p.m.
Police officers arrived at the scene and found an unidentified person suffering a bullet wound in their leg at that location.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment while police searched the scene for evidence.
Police have not released the motive for the shooting.
