Vehicle Struck by Bullets in Newark's South Ward

Police have a crime scene established in a neighborhood in Newark’s South Ward as detectives search the area for possible victims and evidence from shots fired that rang out this evening.

According to police, shooters fired multiple shots on Weequahic Avenue and Clinton Place then sprayed the area of Pamona and Aldine around 6:10 p.m.

Police arrived and found shell casings and a car struck by bullets.

According to police blood was also found in the area, but there were no victims located.

The suspects fled the scene and remain at-large.

**UPDATE 7:05 p.m.:** A male gunshot victim has entered Beth Israel Hospital.
