There were no injuries reported in a shots fired incident that occurred in a Newark West Ward incident during the overnight hours.
According to authorities, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 100 block of Pine Grove Terrace at approximately 10:25 p.m. where officers arrived at the scene and found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after a search of the scene, there were no victims.
Officers canvassing the scene found a car struck by bullets according to police.
There were about five shell casings as police processed the scene and searched for a possible suspect.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
