Vehicle Struck by Bullets in Newark West Ward Shooting

There were no injuries reported in a shooting that caused property damage in Newark's West Ward late Friday evening.

According to police, gunfire erupted in the 200 block of South 20th Street sending police to the area to investigate shortly before 11:40 p.m.

Units arrive at the scene found multiple shell casings on the ground and a vehicle struck multiple times by bullets.

Police officers taped off the area, secured the scene then checked the area and vehicle for victims according to reports.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.
