Vehicle Stop in Roselle Park Leads to Arrest of Newark Resident

Police announced the arrest of a Newark resident found in possession of drugs during a vehicle stop.

According to police, on Dec. 11, at approximately 11:59 P.M., Ptl. Anthony Rodriguez conducted a motor vehicle stop on W. Westfield Avenue on a 2004 Toyota for a moving violation.

After speaking to the occupants, the passenger, 30-year-old Kristen Holt, of Newark, was found to be illegally possessing a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) suspected to be marijuana along with other drug paraphernalia.

While being detained, Holt resisted arrest and was subsequently charged with resisting arrest.

Holt was also served with a summons for possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending future court date.

The driver of the vehicle was served with a motor vehicle summons and was released from scene with a future court date.
