Police in Newark search for a crime scene in a community in the city's North Ward after officers found a vehicle struck by a bullet Sunday evening.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a ShotSpotter activation near 437 4th Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they searched the area and reportedly found no shell casings or victims at that location.
Later in the evening, police were called back to the scene after learning that an unoccupied vehicle had a bullet hole in the bumper.
Police are trying to determine who fired the shot and the motive for the incident.
No arrests have been reported.
