Urgent Search Underway for Missing Newark Senior

The Newark Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance in locating 73-year-old Mr. Eugene Williams of Newark, who has been reported missing since Wednesday, February 14.AdConcerns are growing for his wellbeing due to his diagnosed conditions of schizophrenia and depression.

Williams was last observed on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, departing from a residential facility located on the 100 block of Ballantine Parkway.

Witnesses noted him leaving with his personal belongings packed in two large bags before getting into his 2-door dark blue Saturn.

A regular attendee of an adult daycare facility on weekdays situated in the 100 block of Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Williams has uncharacteristically not made an appearance there following his disappearance.AdHe is described as standing 5’7” tall and weighing 140 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. At the time of his last sighting, he was dressed in a black jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.

There is speculation that he may be attempting to travel to Trenton, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania.

Director Fragé and the Newark Police are urging anyone with information on Eugene Williams' whereabouts to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

The department assures that all tips received through the anonymous Crime Stopper line will remain confidential and could lead to a reward, emphasizing the community's role in aiding the safe return of Mr. Williams.
