UPDATE: Woodbridge Man Arrested for Newark South Ward Shooting

Police officials in Newark are reporting the arrest of Muhsin McBride, 31, of Woodbridge, for an aggravated assault shooting that occurred on Friday, March 15th.

According to police approximately 8:10 p.m. officers responded to the 100-block of Hedden Terrace on a call of shots fired.

Police say responding officers located a man who had been shot and fled to Tillinghast Street following the incident.

The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment then released according to police.

Investigating detectives identified Muhsin McBride as a suspect in this incident and secured a warrant for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

Police say McBride was arrested by 2nd Precinct officers last night in the 100-block of 7th Avenue East.

These charges are merely accusations.

Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
