UPDATE: Verbal Altercation Ends with Female Bystander Being Shot in Newark

Police in Newark seeks the public’s help in locating A vehicle occupied by a suspect who is wanted for a shooting that occurred on Thursday.

Police say at approximately 9:35 p.m., police responded to West Market Street and Littleton Avenue on a call of shots fired.

According to authorities, a woman was shot following an altercation between the occupants of two vehicles involved in a motor vehicle collision.

One of the vehicles involved in this incident is a 2006 white Chevy Impala and the other is a black Jeep Cherokee.

Police say the victim, a bystander, was transported to University Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries then released.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
