Two pedestrians suffered non-fatal injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Newark's North Ward.
As first reported Sunday, the collision happened around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and Chester Avenue in the city's North Ward.
A preliminary investigation indicated that two females, a mother, and a female juvenile, were crossing the street when a vehicle struck them and reportedly left the scene.
Witnesses say they saw a burgundy Dodge Durango with tinted windows strike the mom and her daughter before fleeing the scene.
The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment and are expected to recover.
Newark Police will handle the investigation.
