UPDATE: Two Homes Struck by Bullets as Residents Say Suspicious Activity Continues in Linden Neighborhood

Residents in a section of Linden said they continue to see escalated drugs dealing and other suspicious criminal activity, which led to a shots fired incident with property damaged reported Tuesday night.

According to Linden Police, at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers responded to Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Park, 700 McCandless Street, after residents reported gunshots in the area.

Upon arrival, police said they found two homes struck by bullets in the 800 block of Bower Street.

After officers thoroughly checked the scene, no victims were found.

Residents said they have seen an uptick in criminal activity in the area surrounding the park and their homes.

Linden Police Chief David Hart said officials are glad that no one was injured in the shooting. In the statement, he urged everyone to do their part in protecting the community from violence in Linden.
