Officials from The Newark Police Department have officially confirmed non-life threatening wounds for victims of a shooting incident that injured three people in the city on Wednesday evening.
The motive for the incident remains under investigation with Newark detectives searching for the gunmen, but according to preliminary reports, multiple blasts of gunfire erupted in the area of Central Avenue and 5th Street at around 7:45 pm sending police to the scene where they arrived to find two teen girls and a 28-year-old man struck by gunfire.
All of the victims were rushed to University Hospital in stable condition and expected to survive their injuries.
Authorities want to know, who fired the weapon and why did they decide to shoot in the Central Avenue and 5th Street area on Wednesday night.
The incident is now in the hands of Newark Police Department detectives in their investigation.
Police have not reported an arrest at this time.
