UPDATE: Suspect Sought for Shooting Man in Applebee’s Parking Lot in Newark

Police in Newark seek public help locating a man wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, July 26. 

According to police, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Police responded to the 400 block of Springfield Avenue on a Shot Spotter notification.

Police said a male victim was shot by a suspect who exited the right rear passenger door of a dark-colored Nissan Sentra.

The suspect vehicle, occupied by three individuals, fled, heading northbound on Littleton Avenue towards 16th Avenue after the shooting.

The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect as part of their investigation.

Police said the suspect wore a white t-shirt, black jeans, and white sneakers.
