UPDATE: Suspect Sought in Newark Liquor Store Clerk Shooting

Police in Newark are seeking the public’s help identifying the below pictured suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred on Monday, November 21, 2016.

According to authorities, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers responded to House of Liquors, located at 458 Roseville Avenue, on a robbery call.

The suspect entered the business brandishing a revolver and demanded money.

When the attendant failed to comply, the suspect shot him before leaving the business.

The suspect was last seen traveling north on Roseville Avenue towards First Avenue.

The victim was released from University Hospital after receiving treatment for a non-life threatening injury.

The suspect is described as thinly built Hispanic male, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black vest, black pants and red sneakers.

The suspect also has what appears to be a tattoo on his right hand.

While police are actively searching for the suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from our streets.

This investigation is active and ongoing police said.
