UPDATE: Stray Bullets Strike Car in Orange

Orange Police are looking into the motive behind a shooting that caused property damage in the city on Tuesday evening.

According to authorities, they responded to reports of suspicious activities with a possible vehicle vandalism near a gas station located in the 500 block of Scotland Road just before 7:50 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found the victim near his car at that location. Police say the vehicle had damage consistent with bullet holes.

The driver of the vehicle -an elderly man- reported that while driving near the intersection of Scotland Road and Nassau, he heard loud popping noises but did not see anyone in the area.

He then noticed that his car was damaged according to reports.

Additional police officers canvassed the area and found shell casings in the 400 block of Scotland Road, but a further search did not indicate any victims according to reports.

The incident remains under investigation.
