UPDATE: Stray Bullet Enters Elizabeth Restaurant, Strikes Person

A shooting that occurred at an Elizabeth restaurant sent a man to the hospital on Sunday night.

According to a statement released by police, the incident happened at around 10:43 pm at 1213 Magnolia Avenue, which is a fried chicken restaurant.

Police say gunfire rang out from the outside of the establishment where arriving police units found as many as eight shell casings.

According to police, a bullet entered the establishment and struck a person causing severe injuries.

EMS transported the victim to University Hospital where they received treatment for serious injuries.

Witnesses described the suspect as a 5’8" black male approximately 200lbs who wore all black clothing and a black skull cap according to police.

Police say the suspect fled the scene in an older model, black, Crown Victoria on Trinity Place towards Mary Street.
