UPDATE: Stray Bullet Enters Apartment During Belleville Shots Fired Incident

Belleville police officials are currently investigating a shots fired incident that occurred at The Woodlands Apartment Complex on Monday night.Real EstateDetective Lieutenant John McAloon told RLS Media this morning that the incident took place around 8:40 p.m. at the complex located in the 100 block of Branch Brook Drive. 

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered evidence suggesting that a shooting had taken place.

Lieutenant McAloon said spent shell casings were recovered on the street and not on the sidewalk, but no gunshot victims were found during a search of the vicinity.

During the investigation, Lieutenant McAloon said stray bullets entered one apartment. 

At present, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the motive behind the shooting remains under active investigation.

Authorities are continuing to gather information, and the Belleville Police Department will provide further updates as the investigation progresses.

According to public records, the town has seen a significant decrease in crime and criminal activity since 2022, making this recent shooting an unusual occurrence.

Lieutenant McAloon and Belleville Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have video surveillance to contact Belleville Police.
