Update: Search for Lyndhurst Bank Robbery Suspect Continues

Police in Lyndhurst are investigating an afternoon bank robbery where the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money.

Officers responded to Kearny Bank - located on the corner of Stuyvesant and Valley Brook Avenues - shortly before 2 p.m. for a report of a bank robbery.

Upon arrival, police learned that the male suspect entered the bank, approached the teller and demanded money.

The suspect then fled the bank through the rear entrance of the bank with an undisclosed amount of money in a plastic bag.

According to police, "no weapon was shown".

The suspect is described as an African American man, between 5'10-inches tall and six-feet tall, and weighed approximately 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing jeans, a dark-colored t-shirt, baseball cap, sunglasses and had a towel or some sort of cloth around his neck which he used to cover his mouth during the robbery.
