UPDATE: Roselle Man Critical After Car Strikes him in Linden

A Roselle man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle on Route 27 Saturday afternoon.

According to police, at about 12:15 p.m. Linden Police and Fire units responded to the 800 block of East St. George Avenue on reports of an auto-pedestrian crash.

Police say, a preliminary report indicated that the 48-year-old was crossing East St. George Ave when he was struck by a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling eastbound.

The unidentified man was transported to Newark University Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the car, a 40-year-old Linden woman, as well as the passengers in the vehicle, were not injured in the crash.

Police closed East St. George Avenue for several hours between West Baltimore Avenue and McCandless Street. It was reopened a little after 6:00 p.m. police said.
