Fire officials in Newark are investigating a weekend blaze that displaced over two dozen residents from their homes, with emergency support provided by the American Red Cross.According to preliminary information, firefighters were called to the teen block of Taylor Street shortly before 10 a.m. on Sunday after multiple 911 calls reported a house fire.

Upon arrival, crews encountered flames coming from a two-and-a-half-story wood-frame home and quickly stretched multiple hose lines to contain the blaze.

Firefighters worked aggressively to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent properties.

Despite some initial extension to neighboring homes, crews were able to bring the flames under control in less than an hour.

In response to the incident, the American Red Cross said its volunteers arrived on the scene to assist 26 displaced individuals.

Emergency aid included temporary lodging, meals, clothing, and other essential services to help families begin their recovery process.

No serious injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
