UPDATE: Police Searching for Suspect Connected to Paterson Shooting

Passaic County officials announce that at approximately 7:50 p.m. on August 27, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of East 23rd Street and 14th Avenue in Paterson on a report of a shooting.

According to police, upon arrival, responding officers located a 23-year-old male Paterson resident who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound.

The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.

Police report that based on the initial investigation the victim was driving a motor vehicle in the area of East 23rd Street and 14th Avenue in Paterson when he was shot by an unknown suspect.

The victim sped away but crashed into multiple motor vehicles before coming to a stop in front of Paterson School 13.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
