UPDATE: Police Search for Vehicle Wanted for Fatal Hit-and-Run of 81-Year-Old Woman

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department are requesting information from the public regarding a hit and run collision which resulted in the victim suffering fatal injuries.

According to officials, at approximately 7:08 p.m. on Thursday, the Hackensack Police Department received a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle on Polifly Road, between Sutton and Marvin Avenues.

Upon arrival, officers observed the victim, an 81- year-old female, lying in the roadway. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police said surveillance video recovered from the area, along with evidence recovered at the scene, indicates that the victim was struck by a 2014 to 2018 black BMW X5.

The striking vehicle then fled the scene southbound on Polifly Road.

According to police, the suspected vehicle will most likely display signs of moderate damage to the front driver’s side, including damage to the hood and left fender and fractured or missing plastic from the front grille, bumper trim, and headlight.
