UPDATE: Police Search for Suspect Wanted for Newark Shooting That Had Victim Dropped-Off to St. Michael's Hospital

Authorities in Newark are reporting that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mr. Dennys Santana, 25, of Newark, who they say is wanted in connection with an aggravated assault shooting that occurred yesterday.

Police say at approximately 2 p.m., officers responded to St. Michael’s Hospital on a call of a man arriving for treatment who had been shot.

According to authorities, the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries after being shot in the area of Crane and Stone streets.

Detectives investigating this incident developed sufficient evidence to secure a warrant for the arrest of Dennys Santana on a charge of Aggravated Assault according to police.

Police described Santana as 5’10” tall and weighs about 170 lbs.

Police say Santana has a fair complexion, black hair, and brown eyes.

He also has a facial scar according to police.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
