Update: Police Release Photo of Fanwood Bank Robbery Suspect

Police in Fanwood are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with this morning's bank holdup.

According to the investigation, officers responded to Provident Bank, located at 206 South Avenue, at approximately 10:13 a.m. for a report of an armed robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin build, in his early 50's.

He was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket, blue jeans, dark baseball cap, dark shoes with a yellow and orange traffic vest with vertical stripes.

The suspect was wearing a white dust mask covering his nose and mouth, work gloves, and carrying a dark colored back pack.

He was last seen fleeing in an older Chevrolet SUV type vehicle, silver or beige in color with no license plate given at this time.
