UPDATE: Police Release Image of Vehicle Used in Shooting that Injured Two Near Newark Park

Police in Newark seeks the public’s help in locating a suspected vehicle occupied by suspects who are wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on Tuesday.

According to a statement released Newark Police, at approximately 11:09 a.m., in the vicinity of Avon and Stratford avenues, a newer model SUV, possibly a newer GMC Denali, with NY plates stopped in the area.

Police say two occupants exited the vehicle and fired shots that struck two males before the suspects re-entered the vehicle and sped away westbound on Avon Avenue towards Irvine Turner Blvd.

EMS rushed the victims to University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds according to police.

While police are actively searching for this vehicle and suspects, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from Newark streets.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
