UPDATE: Police: Overnight Newark East Ward Shooting Victims Uncooperative

Police officials in Newark are updating a shooting incident that occurred early this morning where three individuals were shot.

According to police, at approximately 2:53 a.m., police were near the intersection Fleming Avenue and Richards Street when they heard gunfire.

Responding to the scene, officers said they found two victims shot at that location.

EMS transported Both victims to University Hospital for treatment.

Police said a third victim was driven by private vehicle to University Hospital and is receiving treatment.

All three remain hospitalized where they are being treated for non-life threatening injuries and are listed in stable condition police said.

Police recovered a loaded handgun at the scene.

The victims are uncooperative, although police believe the shooting stems from an argument which occurred outside of a bar located at the intersection.
