Essex County authorities are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Bloomfield early this morning.
Police say the shooting happened near Milbank Park in Bloomfield on Monday where they found the victim suffering gunshot wounds.
According to authorities, officers responded to the area of Milbank Park on North 17th Street around 8:30 a.m. after receiving a report of shots fired.
Upo their arrival, officers found a man laying on the sidewalk and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
Police identified the man as identified as Aristedes Statiroudis, 43, of Bloomfield and pronounced him dead just before 9 a.m.
