Police in Newark have announced the arrest of Mr. Sincere Cooper, 18, of Newark, who was wanted for a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, April 19, 2017.
Accoriing to police, at approximately 3:20 p.m., police responded to South Orange Avenue near South 18th Street for a call of a shooting.
Police said the victim, a 16-year old female, was transported to University Hospital for tnon-life threatening injuries then released.
Detectives developed evidence that Sincere Cooper is a suspect in this shooting Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said.
Detective arrested Cooper today without incident and charged him with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
These charges are merely accusations.
Mr. Cooper is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
