A pedestrian who suffered severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle on a street in Belleville Friday has died, officials told RLS Media.
According to officials, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office is involved in the investigation where a man who reportedly attempted to cross Washington Avenue in Belleville was struck by a car around 10 p.m.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office said the severely injured unidentified man was rushed to an area hospital and treated by doctors who ultimately pronounced Miguel Vagas, 57, of Belleville, dead Saturday.
The investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing. The victim's identity has not been released at this time.
