UPDATE: Pedal Cyclist Stable After He Was Struck by Car in Union

Union Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on Colonial Avenue near the intersection of Morris Avenue this morning at approximately 5:46 a.m.  

 

According to officials, a male in his twenties was operating a battery powered scooter on Morris Avenue East near the shoulder when the female driver of a 2009 Honda Civic made a left turn from Morris Ave WB onto Colonial Ave SB and struck the pedal cyclist.

Police said the pedal cyclist sustained injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

The driver of the Honda was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

 

According to authorities, Colonial Avenue was detoured for approximately two hours during the investigation.

 

Police say investigation is ongoing pending further information and witness statements.
