UPDATE: Overnight Shooting Injures Juvenile, 22-Year-Old in Paterson

Passaic County officials announced that at approximately 12:41 a.m. Tuesday morning, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Godwin Avenue and Straight Street in Paterson on a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, responding officers located a potential crime scene, but were unable to identify a victim.

A short time later, members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 17-year-old juvenile and a 22-year-old male Paterson resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey seeking treatment for non-fatal gunshot wounds.

The 22-year-old male remains in critical condition.

There have been a total of 72 people shot in the city since January.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
