UPDATE: One Killed, One Injured in Camden County Shooting

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Camden County Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the shooting of a second man on Saturday evening, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. 

According to officials, on Saturday, January 7, at approximately 8:46 p.m., Camden County Police Officers responded to the 3200 block of Saunders Avenue, Camden City, for a ShotSpotter notification.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located two males suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to Cooper University Medical Center. Upon arrival at the hospital, Mr. Eric Cecilia, 31,  of Leesburg, was pronounced deceased at 9:53 p.m.

The second victim, a 20-year-old male from Camden City, is currently in stable condition.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
