UPDATE: Man Wanted for Firing Gun on South 7th Street in Newark

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose is seeking the public’s help in locating Timothy Lester, 24, of Newark, who is wanted for a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, April 12th.

According to authorities, at approximately 10:25 a.m., a police officer in the 100-block of South 7th Street heard shots fired and observed a suspect run into a residence.

A 31-year-old man had been shot at, but was not injured, following a quarrel.

The suspect fled into a residential building, evading capture.

Detectives have developed evidence that Timothy Lester is a suspect in this shooting.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from city streets.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
