A man found shot in on a Newark South Ward Street on Tuesday evening said he suffered his injury in East Orange.
According to Newark Police, units responded to 10 Osborne Terrace on reports of a male shot at around 6:51 p.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers located the victim who sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound authorities said.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital in Newark alert and conscious.
Newark Police alerted East Orange authorities when the victim told officers that he was shot while in East Orange.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
**FYI:** In a separate incident, police in East Orange are now on the scene of shots fired that rang out this evening in the area of South Arlington and Linden Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m. where one person reportedly sustained a gunshot wound at that location.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
East Orange authorities would not answer requests for general information for either shooting.
