Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino and Bloomfield Public Safety Director Samuel DeMaio have announced that authorities are investigating the death of an unidentified male in Bloomfield earlier this evening.
Accoridng to authorities , shortly before 7:00 p.m., Bloomfield police officers responded to the 200 block of Ampere Parkway and discovered an unresponsive male within a vehicle at this location.
Police said , the male, who suffered apparent gunshot wounds, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:12 pm, according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly, of the Prosecutor's Homicide Unit.
This incident is under investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide Task Force and the Bloomfield Police Department.
The investigation is active and ongoing at this time, according to Fennelly.
