UPDATE: Linden Crash Leaves Woman Critical

According to a statement released by Linden Police, at approximately 3:00 a.m. police, responded to the 1100 block of East St. George Avenue on reports of a single vehicle crash.

Initial reports indicate that a 2012 Honda Pilot was traveling east on East St. George Avenue when the driver lost control and struck a utility pole.

Police say a 29-year-old female passenger was transported to Newark University Hospital with serious injuries.

She remains in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 27-year-old Hasna Alaoui of Linden, was not injured. She was arrested at the scene on unrelated charges related to missed court appearances in Linden.

The eastbound lanes of St. George Ave remains closed between East Baltimore and Charles Street while crews work to replace the pole.

The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau, and anyone with information is asked to Contact Inv. Mieszko Niedziolka at (908) 474-8505.
