UPDATE: Juvenile Among Three Wounded in Newark West Ward Shooting

Newark authorities are investigating a shooting that left three people injured on Monday evening in the West Ward.

According to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, police were dispatched to the 600 block of 15th Avenue at approximately 7:13 p.m. after receiving an alert from the ShotSpotter system, which detects gunfire in the area.  

Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. 

He was immediately transported to University Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.  

Shortly after, two additional gunshot victims—a juvenile male and another adult male—arrived separately at University Hospital for treatment. 

Both are also in stable condition, according to authorities.  

Police have not yet disclosed any information about possible suspects or the circumstances leading up to the shooting. 

The investigation remains active as law enforcement works to determine the events surrounding the incident.
