NJ State Police officials are looking into the cause of a pedestrian strike that killed an Essex County woman Sunday night.
According to state officials, troopers responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident at 10:00 p.m. on the Garden State Parkway northbound near milepost 141.8, Union Township.
Police say a Nissan Altima driven by Mr. Dominic Singh, 26, of Newark was traveling northbound on the Garden State Parkway in when it struck Ms. Telisa Holman, 44, of Irvington who was in the lanes of travel.
As a result of the accident, police say Holman suffered fatal injuries.
According to police Singh suffered no injuries.
NJ State Police say it is not immediately clear why Ms. Holman was on the major highway at this time.
