Passaic County officials announced that on Tuesday at approximately 8:03 p.m., police officers responded to the intersection of Van Houten Street and Summer Street in the City of Paterson in response to a report of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Mr. Shaheem Jones, 26, and a 28-year-old male suffering gunshot wounds.
Police said both men were transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson where Mr. Jones succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased, and where the 28-year-old male was admitted in stable condition.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
