A shooting that occurred on the East Orange-Newark border has East Orange authorities investigating the incident.
According to officials from Newark, the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the vicinity of 18 South 20th Street on the East Orange side of the border on Monday.
Units arrived at the scene reportedly found that the victim made his way to Central Avenue and Grove Street according to authorities.
Police closed off Grove Street from South Orange Avenue to Central Avenue while East Orange authorities searched for shell casings and other evidence.
The victim was transported to University Hospital suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Police are also attempting to determine if a gunshot victim, who walked into University Hospital around the time of the shooting, suffered his injury at the same location.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
