UPDATE: Garfield Man Shot Multiple Times in Early-Morning Route 21 Shooting

Authorities in Passaic County are investigating an early-morning shooting that left a Garfield man wounded along Route 21.

According to information released by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis A. Guzman, officers responded to the northbound side of Route 21 near milepost 10.9 at approximately 3:41 a.m. on September 5 after receiving reports of a shooting.

 

Upon arrival, officers located evidence of gunfire involving a vehicle and found a 39-year-old Garfield man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

 

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials said his injuries were considered non-life-threatening.

 

Authorities have not announced any arrests or released information regarding a possible suspect or motive.

 

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
