UPDATE: Body Found Inside Burned Car in Union Twp. Has Authorities Investigating

The Union County Homicide Task Force is investigating an incident in which a body was found inside a burning vehicle in Union Township early this morning, acting Union County Prosecutor Michael A. Monahan announced Friday.

The identity of the deceased and the cause of the fire have yet to be determined.

According to authorities, a Union patrol officer spotted a fire at approximately 4 a.m. Friday on Lousons Road near Morris Avenue, prompting fire and emergency response.

The Task Force’s investigation is continuing, and it is being assisted by the Township Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office’s Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Arson Task Force.
