Authorities have released the identity of the Union Township man found inside a burning vehicle Friday morning.
Police said a Union patrol officer spotted a fire at approximately 4 a.m. Friday on Lousons Road near Morris Avenue, prompting fire and emergency response.
The person found deceased in a burning vehicle last week has been identified as Walter Foster, 54, of Union Township.
The cause and manner of Foster's death, as well as the source of the fire, remain under active investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force and the Union Township Police Department, Union County Sheriff's Office's Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Arson Task Force.
