UPDATE: Arrest Made in South Brunswick Shooting Incident

​Middlesex County officials announced that a Township man has been arrested and charged in the shooting which took place Saturday in the vicinity of the Royal Oaks Apartments.

According to a statement released by police, Mr. Jahmil Alvarez, 19, of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick was arrested last night and is charged with first degree attempted murder, second degree aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon; both second-degree crimes.

Officials say South Brunswick Police responded to the shooting which took place in the vicinity of the Royal Oaks Apartments, located at 200 Henderson Road in the Monmouth Junction section in South Brunswick, on July 11, at approximately 3:59 pm.

Police say an 18-year-old Monmouth Junction man was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and was treated for gunshot wounds.

Alvarez will be held at the Middlesex County Corrections Center pending a Detention Hearing.
