Authorities in Passaic County announced that based upon an investigation by the Woodland Park Police, in conjunction with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, Abdullah Parker, a 57-year-old from Woodland Park, was charged in connection to the October 15 fatal hit and run that occurred in the area of McBride Avenue and Hughes Place in Woodland Park.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes reported that Abdullah Parker was charged with Death by Auto within 1000 Feet of a School, Death by Auto, Endangering an Injured Victim, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

According to officials, on October 15, at approximately 7:35 p.m., Woodland Park Police was notified of a hit-and-run motor vehicle incident in the area of McBride Avenue and Hughes Place in Woodland Park.

A black Honda Odyssey struck a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk and then drove off, officials stated.

The victim, Lillian Zamlout, a 31-year-old female from Woodland Park, officials said, was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where she was subsequently pronounced deceased.

Authorities say Abdullah Parker is currently in custody, awaiting his first appearance at Central Judicial Processing.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office will file a motion for pre-trial detention, which will be heard by a Superior Court Judge at a date and time to be determined by the Court, officials say.
