Police in Newark's West Ward are looking for suspects responsible for a violent exchange of gunfire in a neighborhood in that part of the city on Tuesday evening.
Residents in the area of South Orange Avenue and South 6th Street frantically dialed 911 after they heard several rounds of gunfire coming from vehicles around 5:30 p.m.
Upon officers' arrival, crime scene tape was immediately put up after cops found multiple shell casings and some property damage at that location.
Police say the vehicle sped away from the scene and was occupied by several suspects.
There were no injuries reported after police searched the area, and the suspects remain at large.
