UPDATE: 38-Year-Old Man Injured in Paterson Shooting

According to a statement released by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, law enforcement officials are actively investigating a shooting that left a Paterson man injured in the early hours of Monday, July 22, 2025.

At approximately 1:46 a.m., Paterson Police officers were called to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center after receiving a report of a shooting victim. 

 

Upon arrival, officers encountered a 38-year-old city resident who had sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound. 

 

The victim had been transported to the hospital by a private vehicle.

 

Through preliminary investigation, authorities were able to trace the incident back to the area of Park Avenue and East 22nd Street, where the shooting is believed to have occurred.

 

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials say additional details will be shared as they become available.
