UPDATE: 37-Year-Old Woman Shot in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 7:30 Sunday members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Carroll Street on a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival the police located evidence of a crime scene, but were unable to locate a victim.

Officials say a short time later members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 37-year-old female Paterson resident had arrived at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Based on the initial investigation the victim was a passenger in a motor vehicle that was travelling through the area of Carroll Street when the shooting occurred.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
