UPDATE: 35-Year-Old Linden Man Stabbed to Death in Newark’s West Ward

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation into a stabbing that killed a man on the Newark-East Orange border Friday morning.

According to a statement released by Essex County authorities, the early more incident happened at approximately 2 a.m. near the intersection of South Orange and Munn avenues.

Authorities said Mr. Quan Williams, 35, of Linden, was brutally stabbed and entered East Orange General Hospital.

He was pronounced dead at 2:17 a.m. authorities said.

According to on-scene reports, Newark and East Orange Police canvassed Munn Avenue for a crime scene and located evidence on the Newark side of the border.

The investigation into the stabbing remains active and ongoing. Authorities would not confirm if the incident was domestic violence.

No arrests have been reported by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office at this time.
